Frenetic. Chaotic. Relentless busy. Pressured.

Words like these describe the outer world many of us work and live in. In many cases the forces combining to create this world are outside of our control.

The best we can do is to somehow engage constructively with the seemingly impossible. That is, if we cannot change the craziness of the world around us, we need to strengthen and cultivate the inner abilities that will allows us to deal with it as wisely as possible.

How to do that? By making sure we bring our “best minds” to the tasks.

In a recent post Tony Schwartz showcases three senior leaders who share their practices for creating “inner space and calmness”, to allow them to deal with their fast-paced, high-pressure worlds wisely. They are: Padmasree Warrior, the chief technology and strategy officer at Cisco, Jeff Weiner, the CEO of LinkedIn, and Bill Ford, the executive chairman of Ford Motor Company.

The post contains links to videos in which these three leaders talk about their practices. If you’re struggling with maintaining sanity and practical wisdom in the midst of a crazy world, then watching these video will be both educational and inspiring.
